Bonsai course for beginners on October 28 and 29, 2019
This theoretical course, offered in English, will cover bonsai fundamentals which include a portion on traditional Japanese design and a portion on the horticultural aspects in our climate. On completion of this course, participants will have the essential knowledge required to begin to develop bonsai for our climate zone. Lecture notes will be provided. Cost of this course is set at $20 per person for OBS members and $35 for non-members, to be paid at the start of the course.
- Monday October 28, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. : Esthetic of the Japanese approach.
- Tuesday October 29, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. : Horticulture and techniques.

Open workshop(s); Date will be determined in early 2020
Those bilingual workshops are held at the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre. Members bring their own tree or trees to work on with the help of an experienced member. Participants can get help in performing repot, wiring or styling, or simply receive advice. There is no need to register in advance to participate in those workshops and there is no cost for members.
